The Arts Center of Greenwood presents a variety of events annually that are fit for the whole family including seasonal Family Fun Days, Storytime in the Gallery, Art Explorer Days, and iMAGINE STEAM Festival.
Family Fun Day: Gullah Gullah

Family Fun Day is returns to The Arts Center of Greenwood with a Gullah Geechee theme! This event encourages families to explore, learn about and celebrate Gullah Geechee culture of the South Carolina Lowcountry and it's West African origins! The event is fit for all ages and will feature a variety of activities including demos, crafts, food truck cuisine, an authentic African market, a live musical performance, two art exhibits and more!
Activities: > live performance by Egbe Kilimanjaro African-Caribbean Drum & Dance > authentic African market (jewelry, oils, soaps, clothes, masks etc.) > Gullah Geechee-themed crafts for youth > Gullah Geechee-themed art exhibits > Sweetgrass Foodz (Charleston-based food truck)

The lead sponsor for this event is South Carolina Humanities. The mission of South Carolina Humanities is to enrich the cultural and intellectual lives of all South Carolinians. This not-for-profit organization presents and/or supports literary initiatives, lectures, exhibits, festivals, publications, oral history projects, videos and other humanities-based experiences that reach more than 250,000 citizens annually. South Carolina Humanities receives funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities as well as corporate, foundation and individual donors. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of community leaders from throughout the state.
