Juried Art Show 

What is currently on view in the main gallery?

The South Carolina Festival of Flowers Juried Art Show is a sanctioned exhibition hosted annually by The Arts Center of Greenwood in concurrence with the award-winning festival. The exhibition is on view in the main gallery June 6 - August 3, 2024. The exhibition represents exemplary contemporary art throughout the state and southeast. 

There are 62 works by 47 artists ranging in textile, drawing, painting, printmaking, assemblage, photography, sculpture, ceramics, basketry, collage, woodwork, papercut, digital art and more on view. Juror Biography 
​


​Michael Marks was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and spent his formative years growing up in rural Georgia. He
 has lived throughout the Southeast and worked as an artist and educator for over two decades. An advocate for the arts, he was a co-founder and director of the ThreeCitiesGroup artist collective, and has worked with several art collectives, alternative venues, art centers, and as a curator throughout his career. Specializing in painting, drawing, and printmaking, his creative work spans a range of materials and techniques and has been exhibited nationally and internationally in over eighty exhibitions in twenty states; in US cities including Greenville, Columbia, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Saint Louis, Austin, and Chicago, and internationally in Copenhagen, Prague, and Perth. His writings on contemporary art and education have been published by Temporary Art Review and the Paris College of Art Press, and he has served as a board member for FATE (Foundations in Art: Theory and Education) and as Editor of FATE In Review, an academic journal focused on arts education and visual culture. He was faculty at the Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, SC; the University of South Carolina Upstate, and currently serves as Associate Professor of Art and Chair of The Department of Art + Design at the South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University.
