About Us The Arts Center of Greenwood is a 501(c) non-profit community arts organization located in Greenwood, South Carolina.
Our Story After a community-driven major capital campaign and renovation of the historic Federal Building in Uptown Greenwood, The Arts Center of Greenwood received its permanent home and opened to the public in February 2006. Since that time, the organization has inspired visitors with engaging exhibitions, educational programs, and events.
With 25,000 square feet of usable space, the center offers an exciting home for the arts. The facility features a premier gallery space, courtyard garden, ceramics studio, resident artist studios, classroom spaces, reception hall, conference room, catering kitchen, a visitor center and workspace for other leading organizations such as The Self Family Foundation, Discover Greenwood, and Uptown Greenwood Development.
The center presents a dynamic rotation of art exhibitions annually which offer prospects to both emerging and established artists within the region. The center offers seasonal studio art classes, camps, workshops, lectures, and tours that provide children, teens, and adults with opportunities to discover new perspectives and art-making techniques. Through various partnerships, the center also provides outreach programs that offer interventions and meaningful modes of self-expression to disadvantaged areas of the community.
Situated in the heart of Uptown Greenwood, the center leads as both a cultural organization and a community resource dedicated to celebrating the creative charm and diversity of the Lakelands region and beyond.
Our Mission The Arts Center of Greenwood is committed to enriching the quality of life within the community by providing a venue for exposure, engagement, and education in both the visual and performing arts.
Our Vision To be a venue where collective artistic vision forges strong community, creativity, cultural vitality, and economic impact.
